Fatal traffic accident in Western

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which an elderly man was killed in Western this (November 8) morning.

The accident occurred shortly after 11 am when an 88-year-old man was crossing the road at 77 Queen Road West.

The old man reportedly lost balance and fell onto the ground when he saw some vehicles approaching and dashed backward to avoid being rammed by the approaching vehicles.

Sustaining serious head injury, he was rushed to the Queen Mary Hospital where he was certified dead at 11.49 am.

The case has been taken over by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic Hong Kong Island for investigation.
