Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

Police today (December 6) appealed for information on a traffic accident in which a 27-year-old man was injured in Mong Kok last month and later died at hospital.

Shortly after 9.30 am on November 24, a light goods vehicle driven by a 53-year-old man was travelling along eastbound Bute Street. On reaching the junction with Canton Road, it reportedly collided with an electric bike travelling along northbound Canton Road.

Sustaining serious injuries, the 27-year-old male cyclist was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital and was later transferred to the Princess Margaret Hospital. He was certified dead at 5.42 pm on November 29.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic Kowloon West are proceeding.
