Murder and suicide in Kwai Chung

Police are investigating a murder and suicide case in which a 48-year-old man and his 36-year-old wife died in Kwai Chung early this (December 30) morning.

Shortly after 12.30 am, Police received a report from a 12-year-old girl that her parents were fell from height from their home at Kwai Ming House of Kwai Fong Estate after a dispute.

Police officers arrived at the scene and located the 48-year-old man and his 36-year-old wife lying unconscious on the ground outside Kwai Ming House. The couple was certified dead by ambulancemen at scene.

A hammer was found inside the couple's flat.

Initial enquiries revealed that the man plunged himself to death after attacking his wife with a hammer and pushing her out of the window.

A post-mortem will be conducted on next Tuesday (January 2, 2007) to ascertain the cause of their death.

Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Kwai Tsing District are proceeding.
