Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 76-year-old man was injured in Cheung Sha Wan last month and was certified dead on February 2.

At about 7pm on January 26, a private car driven by a 29-year-old man stopped on the second lane outside 216 Castle Peak Road Mong Kok bound. When it was reversing to the first lane of the same road, it reportedly knocked down a 76-year-old man who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious head injury, the man was rushed to Caritas Medical Centre for treatment. He was later transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital where he was certified dead at 11pm on February 2.

Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic Kowloon West are proceeding.
