Special traffic arrangements for Lunar New Year Night Parade (with Photo)

Police will implement crowd management and special traffic arrangements in Tsim Sha Tsui on February 18 to facilitate a night parade to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

The parade will be held in Tsim Sha Tsui between 8 pm and 9.30 pm on the first day of the Lunar New Year.

To facilitate the public to watch the parade, arrangements including road closures, traffic diversions and suspension of parking spaces will be implemented from 6 pm to 11 pm.

Road diversion
--------------

The following bus diversion will commence at 6 pm:

- All franchised buses along southbound Nathan Road will operate circular bus service and will turn left into eastbound Salisbury Road;
- All franchised buses along westbound Salisbury Road will be diverted to turn right into northbound Nathan Road;
- Part of the franchised buses along southbound Chatham Road South will turn left into eastbound Granville Road. Temporary bus stops will be relocated outside Science Museum, Granville Road.
- Part of the franchised buses will turn right to westbound Salisbury Road via southbound Chatham Road South and then turn right to northbound Nathan Road.

Road closures

The following closure of parade route and the Star Ferry Concourse will commence at about 6.30 pm on the completion of bus diversion:

- Southbound Canton Road will be closed from Kowloon Park Drive to Salisbury Road. Traffic along southbound Canton Road will be required to turn right into China HK City or U-turn into northbound Canton Road;
- Both southbound and northbound Kowloon Park Drive will be closed;
- The Star Ferry Concourse, both eastbound and westbound Salisbury Road will be closed from the Star Ferry to Nathan Road;
- Traffic along southbound Nathan Road will be required to turn left into eastbound Salisbury Road and traffic along westbound Salisbury Road will be required to turn right into northbound Nathan Road;
- A section of Peking Road between Canton Road and Kowloon Park Drive will be closed;
- Traffic along southbound Peking Road is not allowed to turn left into northbound Kowloon Park Drive; and
- Traffic along westbound Middle Road is not allowed to turn left into southbound Kowloon Park Drive.

Lock Road, Hankow Road, Ashley Road, Haiphong Road, Ichang Street, Middle Road and a section of Peking Road and Middle Road, both between Nathan Road and Kowloon Park Drive will be closed to facilitate crowd arrival if situation warrants. Traffic diversion will be implemented as follows:

- Traffic along northbound Nathan Road cannot turn left into Middle Road and Peking Road;
- The Green Mini Bus stand at Hankow Road and Ashley Road will be relocated at Canton Road outside China Hong Kong City.

Suspension of Parking Meters

All parking meters at southern part of Haiphong Road will be suspended from 3 pm to 12 pm.

Drivers are urged to take heed of traffic signs and the direction of Traffic Police at the scene.
