Special traffic arrangements in Lam Tsuen

Police will implement crowd management and special traffic arrangements to facilitate members of the public to visit the "Wishing Tree" in Lam Tsuen, Tai Po during the Lunar New Year from February 18 to March 4.

"As a large number of people are expected to visit the 'Wishing Tree' in Lam Tsuen and there will be no parking space for private cars, we are calling on the public to make use of public transport to access the area so as to minimise the chance of traffic congestion," a Police spokesman said.

Road closure:
- A section of Fong Ma Po Tsuen Access Road from Lam Kam Road to Lam Tsuen Rural Committee Office will be closed from 7 am to 7 pm from February 18 to March 4.

The following traffic measures will be implemented from 7 am to 7 pm on February 18 to 20, February 25 and March 4 and they will be implemented when the situation warrants:

Restricted zone:
- All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from stopping, picking up/setting down passengers and loading/unloading goods at
  (a) the section of Fong Ma Po Tsuen Access Road between Lam Kam Road and Lam Tsuen Rural Committee Office; and
  (b) the section of Lam Kam Road (Pat Heung bound) between Hong Lok Yuen Interchange and the entrance to Tong Sheung Tsuen, except franchised buses and green minibuses(GMB).

Road diversion:
- Except for franchised bus, Green Minibus, taxis with passengers and vehicles of Lam Tsuen resident, all vehicles will be prohibited from entering the slip road from Tai Po Tai Wo Road to northbound Tolo Highway.

- Except for franchised bus, Green Minibus, taxis with passengers and vehicles of Lam Tsuen residents, all vehicles travelling to Pat Heung bound Lam Kam Road are only permitted to travel via the slow lane of the slip road leading from northbound Tolo Highway to Lam Kam Road Interchange.

"Police will take enforcement actions against traffic offenders. Any illegally parked vehicles will be towed away without prior notice," the spokesman said.

Members of the pubic are urged to take heed of instructions of Police at the scene.
