Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui

Police today (April 12) appealed to the public to provide information on a traffic accident in which an 83-year-old man was injured in Sheung Shui on March 19 and certified dead in hospital on March 30.

At about 9 am on March 19, a light goods vehicle driven by a 29-year-old man was travelling along Fan Kam Road towards Sheung Shui. When reaching near the North District Hospital, it reportedly knocked down an 83-year-old man who was crossing the road.

Sustaining head injuries, the man was sent to the North District Hospital and later tranferred to Prince of Wales Hospital where he was certified dead at 5.04 pm on March 30.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are proceeding.
