Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Happy Valley

Police appealed to members of the public for information on a traffic accident in which a 78-year-old woman was killed in Happy Valley yesterday (April 18).

Shortly after 2 pm yesterday, a private car driven by an 81-year-old man was travelling along downhill Sing Woo Road. Upon reaching 59, Sing Woo Road, it reportedly rammed onto the railing and knocked down a 78-year-old woman who was standing on the pavement.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital where she was certified dead at 5.42 pm.

Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are underway.
