Fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Mong Kok in which a 44-year-old woman was killed this (May 3) morning.

At about 11 am, a light good vehicle driven by a 24-year-old man was travelling along Prince Edward Road West towards Lai Chi Kok. It reportedly knocked down a 44-year-old woman who was crossing the road near Yuen Ngai Street.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital where she was certified dead at 2.34 pm.

The 24-year-old man was later arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is still being detained for enquiries.

Investigation by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic Kowloon West is proceeding.
