Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui

Police today (May 8) appealed for information on a traffic accident in which a 70-year-old male cyclist was injured in Sheung Shui on April 18 and was later certified dead in hospital.

At 11.41 am on April 18, a bicycle ridden by the 70-year-old man was travelling along an unnamed road from Fan Kam Road towards Lin Tong Mei. While reaching near Tai Lung Experimental Farm, it reportedly lost control and rammed into an iron gate. After the accident, the cyclist fell into a stream by the roadside.

Sustaining serious head injuries, he was rushed to the North District Hospital and later transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital where he was certified dead at 11.18 pm on April 26.

Investigations by Special Investigation Team, Traffic New Territories North are proceeding.
