Fatal traffic accident in Kowloon City

Police today (June 2) appealed to the public to provide information on a traffic accident in which a man was killed in Kowloon City.

At about 4.45 pm, a light goods vehicle (LGV), driven by a 50-year-old man, was travelling along eastbound Boundary Street. While approaching Ho Tung Road, it reportedly knocked down an 89-year-old man who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was certified dead at 5.14 pm.

Investigations by the Accident Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are proceeding. Police arrested the 50-year-old man for dangerous driving causing death. He was released on Police bail pending further enquiries.
