Special traffic arrangements for parade in Tsim Sha Tsui

Police will implement crowd management and special traffic arrangements in Tsim Sha Tsui on June 24 to facilitate a street parade to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the establishment of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The parade will be held in Tsim Sha Tsui between 10 am and 12 noon. To facilitate the public to watch the parade, arrangements including road closures, traffic diversions, and suspension of parking spaces will be implemented from 9.30 am 12.30 pm.

Road closures
-------------

The closure of parade route will commence at 0930 hours upon the completion of Bus Diversion:

1. The two offside lanes of southbound Canton Road between the Gateway Towers and Star House will be closed;

2. The nearside lane of a section of southbound Canton Road between the Gateway Towers and Star House, the section of Peking Road between Canton Road and Kowloon Park Drive, and the northbound slip road of Kowloon Park Drive towards southbound Canton Road will be closed for emergency vehicles access only;

3. The nearside lane of a section of northbound Canton Road between the entrance of China Hong Kong City Public Transport Interchange and the entrance of Canton Road Fire Station will be closed for the parade procession;

4. The pavement of a section of northbound Canton Road between the entrance of Canton Road Fire Station and Austin Road West will be closed for the parade procession while all of the northbound carriageways will remain opened;

5. All the vehicles using the nearside lane of Canton Road northbound carriageway will not be allowed to turn left into Austin Road West;

Additional Road closure
-----------------------

In the event of excessive build up of crowd or traffic, further road closure and diversions will also be implemented if necessary.

All traffic along southbound Canton Road will not be allowed to enter China Hong Kong City Public Transport Interchange. The public service vehicles will be divert via southbound Kowloon Park Drive, eastbound Salisbury Road, northbound Hankow Road, westbound Middle Road and northbound Kowloon Park Drive to return to northbound Canton Road while others vehicles will disperse from eastbound of Salisbury Road.

Hotel Access
------------

Vehicular access to and from hotels within the affected area will be diverted into Gateway Boulevard during the period of road closure until traffic resumed normal. Vehicles heading for this area would use the elevated Road of northbound Kowloon Park Drive.

Car Park Access
---------------

Car parks affected by road closures will be closed at the same time as the commencement of the Road Closure and will remain closed for the duration of the road closures. Car parks management should be forewarned that the exact road closure time would be flexible, depending on traffic and crowd situation.

On-street Parking
-----------------

With effect from 8.30 am hours until 2 pm on June 24, all on street illegal parking along southbound Canton Road within the related operational area will be towed away.
