Fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in which a 55-year-old woman was killed in Mong Kok this evening (June 24).

Shortly after 9.30 pm, a taxi driven by a 48-year-old man was travelling along Nathan Road towards Tsim Sha Tsui. When it reached near Allied Plaza, it reportedly knocked down the 55-year-old woman. Initial enquiries revealed that the woman was standing on the pavement but suddenly lost her balance and fell out to the carriageway.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital where she was certified dead at 10.53 pm.

Investigations will be taken over by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West.
