Appeal for information on murder case

Police today (June 30) appealed for information on a case of murder in which which a female body was found being dumped inside a suitcase in Stanley on June 25.

The case came to light at about 7 pm when a caretaker reported to Police that odd smell was emerging from a manhole near a water catchment on Wong Ma Kok Road, Stanley.

Police arrived at the scene and discovered a badly decomposed body which was dumped inside a suitcase and placed inside the manhole.

The body was later identified to be the 56-year-old woman who was reported missing in Tsuen Wan on June 20.

She was last seen in Aberdeen on the afternoon of June 19 and was wearing a black T-shirt and a pair of black trousers. Standing about 1.65 metres and weighing about 58 kilograms in weight, she is of medium build and has brown curly hair.

A post mortem conducted on the deceased could not ascertain her cause of death. Further toxicological examination is being carried out.

Investigations by Regional Crime Unit of Hong Kong Island are underway.
