Fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 49-year-old woman was killed in Cheung Sha Wan this afternoon (July 4).

At around 2.30 pm, a light goods vehicle driven by the 45-year-old man was travelling along westbound Wing Hong Street upon reaching the junction with Tsap Fai Street, the vehicle reportedly knocked down the 49-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious injuries, the woman was rushed to the Caritas Medical Centre where she was certified dead at 2.50 pm.

The 45-year-old man was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He was released on Police bail pending further enquiries.

Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
