Fatal traffic accident in Lok Ma Chau

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 49-year-old man was killed in Lok Ma Chau this morning (July 21).

At about 11 am, a container truck driven by the 49-year-old man was travelling along southbound San Sham Road. The vehicle reportedly lost control and sideturned to the right while making a left turn to a roundabout in San Tin Interchange.

After the incident, the driver was trapped inside the compartment and was rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious injuries, he was rushed to North District Hospital where he was certified dead at 11.45 am.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic, New Territories North are proceeding.
