Murder in Sau Mau Ping

Police are investigating a murder in which a 15-year-old boy was injured in Sau Mau Ping yesterday (August 25) and certified dead early this morning (August 26).

At about 10.40 pm yesterday, a 19-year-old man reported to the police that his 15-year-old friend was attacked by some ten culprits holding iron bars from behind when they were walking outside Tower Three of Lotus Tower in Garden Estate. The culprits then fled towards Luen On Street.

Sustaining serious injuries to his feet, the boy was rushed to the United Christian Hospital and was later transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was certified dead at 2.40 am this morning.

A post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow (August 27) to ascertain the cause of his death.

Investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon East are underway.
