Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan

Police today (August 28) appealed to the public to provide information on a traffic accident in which an 82-year-old man was killed and a 73-year-old woman injured in Cheung Sha Wan last week.

At about 6 am on August 22, a light goods vehicle driven by a 33-year-old man was travelling along eastbound Lai King Hill Road. When reaching outside 230, Lai King Hill Road, it reportedly knocked down the 82-year-old man and the 73-year-old woman who were crossing the road.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to Princess Margaret Hopsital where he was certified dead at 3.43 pm on the same day while the woman left the scene after the accident. She later went to Queen Elizabeth Hospital herself and was discharged after treatment.

Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are proceeding.
