Special traffic arrangements for public procession ************************************************** Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate a public procession to be held on Hong Kong Island tomorrow (January 13). A. Road Closure The following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic from about 3.30 pm: 1. Southbound Gloucester Road between Causeway Bay flyover and Causeway Road; 2. Northbound Gloucester Road south of Sugar Street; 3. Sugar Street; 4. Westbound Yee Wo Street between Pennington Street and Hennessy Road; 5. Jardine's Bazaar; 6. Westbound Hennessy Road between Yee Wo Street and Canal Road West; 7. Tang Lung Street; 8. The section of Yun Ping Road between Kai Chiu Road and Pak Sha Road; 9. Kai Chiu Road; 10.The section of Lee Garden Road between Kai Chiu Road and Hennessy Road; and 11.The slow lane of westbound Hennessy Road west of Canal Road West, westbound Queensway and Queen's Road Central east of Ice House Street will be intermittently closed. B. Traffic Diversion The following traffic diversion will be implemented from about 3.30 pm until the road closure is lifted: 1. Traffic along southbound Causeway Bay Flyover will be diverted to turn right to Gloucester Road service road; 2. Traffic along eastbound Great George Street will be diverted to turn left to northbound Gloucester Road except traffic heading for Tai Hang Flyover; 3. Traffic along eastbound Yee Wo Street will be prohibited to turn left to Sugar Street; 4. Traffic along Irving Street will be diverted to turn right onto northbound Pennington Street; 5. Traffic along northbound Pennington Street will be prohibited to turn left to Jardine's Bazaar; 6. Traffic along northbound Pennington Street will be diverted to turn right to eastbound Yee Wo Street. C. Suspension of Bus Stops All bus stops along southbound Gloucester Road, Irving Street, westbound Yee Wo Street, westbound Hennessy Road, westbound Queensway and Queen's Road Central east of Ice House Street will be temporarily suspended from about 3.30 pm until the crowd has dispersed and traffic resumes normal. D. Suspension of Public Light Bus stand The public light bus stand at Sugar Street will be temporarily suspended from about 3.30 pm until the crowd has dispersed and traffic resumes normal. Public are advised to use public transports and avoid driving to the affected areas. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience and also take heed of instruction of Traffic Police.
