Update on Sai Kung murder

Police are still investigating a murder case in which a man was found dead in Sai Kung this morning (January 17).

	About 8.20pm yesterday (January 16), a woman told Police that an empty taxi with its headlights on was parked near the roadside of Sai Sha Road near Yung Shue O Village.

	Police conducted a search in the vicinity and about 12.10 this morning found a man with head injuries lying in a bush about 70 metres from the taxi. He was certified dead by ambulancemen at the scene.

After initial investigations, it was confirmed that the deceased was the 47-year-old taxi driver.

A post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow morning (January 18) to ascertain the cause of his death.

	Anyone who may have seen the taxi parking at Sai Sha Road from 10am to 8pm yesterday or who has any information to provide is urged to contact investigating officers of Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon East on 2767 1472 or 2767 1473.
