Fatal traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping

    Police are investigating a traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping this morning (January 21) in which a 50-year-old man was killed.

     About 7am, a public light bus being driven by a 47-year-old man was travelling west along Sau Mau Ping Road.  The bus made a U-turn when it passed the junction with Sau Fung Street and hit the man who was crossing the road.

The man was taken to the United Christian Hospital where he was certified dead at 7.28am.

	The driver was later arrested for dangerous driving causing death and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are under way.
