Motorists urged to drive with care on rainy day

     Motorists have been advised to drive with extra care in the wet conditions.

     Police pointed out that under these conditions, twice the normal stopping distance was required and motorists should reduce speed and extend the distance between themselves and the vehicle in front.

     For safety reasons, motorists are also advised to turn on headlights to improve visibility while driving.

     Pedestrians are advised to take heed of traffic while crossing the roads, particularly at busy junctions or when their view is obstructed.
