Motorists urged to drive with care on rainy day

   Motorists have been advised to drive with extra care in the wet conditions.

     Police advise that under these conditions, twice the normal stopping distance is required and motorists should reduce speed and extend the distance between themselves and the vehicle in front.

     For safety reasons, motorists are also advised to turn on headlights to improve visibility while driving.

     Pedestrians should take heed of traffic while crossing roads, particularly at busy junctions or when their view is obstructed.
