Update on fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei

    Police have arrested a 44-year-old male driver in connection with a traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei this afternoon (January 25) in which a man was injured and later died in hospital.

     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death after his light goods vehicle hit the man who was crossing the road at the junction of Ferry Street and Saigon Street at about 1.30pm. He was charged and will appear at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (January 26). 

     Police have made contact with the deceased's family and confirmed he was 87-year-old.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West, are under way.
