Appeal for information on abandoned baby boy (with photos)

    Police are trying to locate the next-of-kin of a baby boy who was found abandoned in Tung Chung yesterday (February 10).

    A cleaning worker found the baby boy about 10.15am next to a rubbish bin at a sitting-out area near San Tung House at Yu Tung Court. 

    The baby boy was inside a red non-woven bag. He was wearing some adult clothing, including a navy blue jacket. He has no apparent injuries and was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital for examination.
    
    He is a newborn baby, with the umbilical cord attached, and weighs about 3kg.

    Police urge relatives of the baby, or anyone who has information to offer, to contact the investigating officers of the Lantau North District at 2988 2442 or 2988 2444, or any police station.
