Fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei

    Police are investigating a traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei this morning (February 22) in which a 74-year-old man was killed.

      About 7.20am, a medium goods vehicle driven by a 46-year-old man was travelling on Kansu Street towards Yau Ma Tei. On reaching the junction with Canton Road, the vehicle hit the man who was crossing the road.

    The man sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was certified dead at 7.50am.

    The driver was later arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is still being detained for further enquiries.

    Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic, Kowloon West are proceeding.
