Traffic arrangements for Po Leung Kuk Charity Walk ********************************************* Police will implement special arrangements on Hong Kong Island to facilitate the Po Leung Kuk Charity Walk to be held on Sunday (February 24). The charity walk will commence at about 9.30am at Hong Kong Stadium and will finish at Aberdeen Country Park. Special traffic arrangements to be implemented are as follows: Road closure ------------ (1) Stadium Path will be closed from 7.30am; (2) A section of uphill Link Road between Caroline Hill Road and Broadwood Road will be closed from 7.30am. The downhill carriageway will be closed if necessary; (3) A section of the uphill inner lane of Wong Nai Chung Gap Road outside the tennis courts of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department will be closed from 7.30am; (4) A section of downhill Broadwood Road between Link Road and Tai Hang Road will be closed from 8.30am; (5) Except a section of Tai Hang Road between Upper Blue Pool Road and Blue Pool Road which can be accessed by the local residents, a section of westbound Tai Hang Road between Broadwood Road and Blue Pool Road will be closed from 8.30am, and (6) A section of Caroline Hill Road between Link Road and Eastern Hospital Road will be closed from 9am. Road diversions --------------- (1) A section of westbound Caroline Hill Road between Leighton Road and Eastern Hospital Road will be routed one-way southbound from 7.30am; (2) A section of eastbound Caroline Hill Road between Leighton Road and Cotton Path will be routed one-way northbound from 7.30am, (3) A section of Eastern Hospital Road between Caroline Hill Road and Cotton Path will be routed one-way northbound from 7.30am. Vehicular access to St. Paul's Hospital carpark from Tung Lo Wan Road will be maintained; (4) A section of Link Road between Broadwood Road and Caroline Hill Road will be routed one-way downhill from 8.30am. Traffic along downhill Link Road may be prohibited to turn right at junctions between Link Road and Caroline Hill Road and between Caroline Hill Road and Leighton Road; (5) A section of Broadwood Road between Link Road and Tai Hang Road will be routed one-way southbound from 8.30am; (6) Westbound traffic on Tai Hang Road will be diverted into either Perkins Road or the eastbound carriageway of Tai Hang Road from 8.30am; (7) Except for local residents, franchised buses and maxicabs, eastbound traffic on Tai Hang Road will be diverted onto Blue Pool Road at the junction of Tai Hang Road and Blue Pool Road from 8.30am; (8) A section of Mount Butler Road between Mount Butler Drive and Price Road will be routed one-way southbound from 8.30am; (9) Access to Coombe Road from Magazine Gap Road will be restricted to local residents only from 8.30am; and (10) Catering vehicles will not be allowed to enter the Wan Chai Gap area after 10.30am. Suspension of parking spaces ---------------------------- (1) The parking spaces on Stadium Path, Caroline Hill Road between Stadium Path and Cotton Path, Eastern Hospital Road Service Road and Hoi Ping Road will be suspended between 6am and 2pm while those in the Coombe Road carpark will be suspended between 6am and 3pm. (2) Access to and from public carparks within the closed areas may also be affected during the event. Prohibition to learner drivers ------------------------------ The following roads will be prohibited to all learner drivers between 7am to 3pm: Tai Hang Road, Leighton Road, Sharp Street East, Percival Street south of Hennessy Road, Caroline Hill Road, Link Road, Stadium Path, Cotton Path, Eastern Hospital Road, Eastern Hospital Road Service Road, Broadwood Road, southbound Wong Nai Chung Gap Road, southbound Stubbs Road Flyover, Aberdeen Reservoir Road and Yue Kwong Road. Motorists are advised to take heed of traffic signs and follow instructions of Traffic Police at the scene.
