Man arrested in connection with Wan Chai death

A 75-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 78-year-old woman in Wan Chai last night (February 22).

    About 11.20pm, a staff member of an elderly home at 18 Johnston Road reported to Police that a female resident was attacked by a male resident.

     When Police arrived, they found the woman with head injuries lying unconscious on a bed.
 
     The woman was rushed to Ruttonjee Hospital where she was subsequently certified dead. 

Initial enquiries revealed that the 75-year-old man had allegedly attacked the woman with a chair. 

     A post-mortem will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.

The man was arrested and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Motive of the attack is still under investigations by District Crime Squad of Wan Chai.
