Fatal traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O

     Police are investigating a traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O last night (February 27) in which a 38-year-old man was killed.

     About 9.40pm last night, a crane truck driven by the 38-year-old man was travelling along Clear Water Bay Road towards Clear Water Bay beach. When it reached near Ha Yeung Road, it lost control and crashed into a taxi travelling on the opposite carriageway. The truck then fell down to the hillside and its driver was later rescued by firemen. 

     Sustaining serious injuries, the crane truck driver was rushed to Tseung Kwan O Hospital where he was certified dead at 1.35am today. The 41-year-old male taxi driver was also taken to the hospital with slight injuries.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are under way.
