Appeal for victims of indecent assault in Sheung Shui ******************************************* Police today (February 28) appealed to victims of indecent assault who have not made a report to the Police to come forward after arresting two boys aged 13 and 14 on February 22 in connection with a series of such cases in Sheung ShuiĄD At about 5 pm on February 22, the officers from Sheung Shui Divisional Task Force saw the two boys whose appearance resembled the descriptions of the wanted persons in connection with the an indecent assault case on February 21. Officers followed the boys and subsequently arrested them in a building in Tin Ping Estate. Upon enquiries, it was revealed that the two boys were connected to a series of similar cases in the Sheung Shui area. The modus operandi used by the two boys was to touch the bottoms of the female victims by lifting up their dress while the victims were on their way home. On some occasions, they rode a bicycle and touched the bottom of the victims from behind while they were walking on the roadside or forced the victims to touch the private parts of the boys, who fled immediately after committing the crimes. So far, seven reports of indecent assault with similar modus operandi in the Sheung Shui area have been reported between mid-2007 and February this year. The Divisional Investigation Team of Sheung Shui has taken over the investigations. The duo was released on bail pending further enquiries. Police urged anyone who has encountered this modus operandi but has not reported to Police to contact the investigating officers at 2675 3404 or 2675 3300.
