Police investigate death of woman in Tai Po murder

Police are investigating the death of a woman in a murder case in Tai Po last night (March 15). 

About 10.15 pm yesterday, a 31-year-old woman reported to the Police that her 30-year-old female friend had collapsed inside a flat at Wai Yan Street. 

Police officers sped to the scene and found the woman lying unconscious in the sitting room. Initial investigation revealed that the woman's purse was ransacked and there were suspicious circumstances surrounding the case.

She was sent to the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital where she was certified dead at 8.23 am this (March 16) morning.

A post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow (March 17) to ascertain the cause of the woman's death.

Investigations by Regional Crime Unit of New Territories North are under way.
