Police investigate death of woman in Tai Po

The death of a 35-year-old woman in Tai Po this morning (March 17) is being treated by police as murder. 

About 12.45am, Police received a report from a friend of the dead woman, saying she had lost contact with her and requesting police assistance.

Officers went to a flat on Kwong Fuk Road and found the woman unconscious outside the bedroom. She was subsequently certified dead at the scene.

Initial investigations revealed that the woman had sustained no superficial injury and the flat had been ransacked. The death is being treated as suspicious and the case has been classified as murder.

A post-mortem will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of the woman's death.

Investigations by Regional Crime Unit of New Territories North are under way.
