Traffic arrangements for public event on May 1 *********************************************** Police will implement special traffic arrangements on May 1 (Thursday) to facilitate a public meeting at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay followed by a procession to march off from Victoria Park to the Central Government Offices in Central. The following traffic arrangements will be implemented from 3.15pm: (A) Road closure (1) Southbound Gloucester Road between Causeway Bay flyover and Causeway Road; (2) Northbound Gloucester Road south of Sugar Street; (3) Sugar Street; (4) A section of westbound Yee Wo Street between Pennington Street and Hennessy Road; (5) Jardine's Bazaar; (6) A section of westbound Hennessy Road between Yee Wo Street and Lee Garden Road; (7) A section of Yun Ping Road between Kai Chiu Road and Pak Sha Road; (8) Kai Chiu Road; (9) A section of Lee Garden Road between Kai Chiu Road and Hennessy Road; and (10) The slow lane of Hennessy Road westbound west of Lee Garden Road, westbound Queensway, Queen's Road Central east of Ice House Street will be intermittently closed. (B) Traffic Diversion (1) Traffic along southbound Causeway Bay flyover will be diverted to turn right to Gloucester Road service road; (2) Traffic along eastbound Great George Street will be diverted to turn left to northbound Gloucester Road except vehicles heading for Tai Hang flyover; (3) Traffic along eastbound Yee Wo Street will be prohibited to turn left to Sugar Street; (4) Traffic along Irving Street will be diverted to turn right to northbound Pennington Street; (5) Traffic along northbound Pennington Street will be prohibited to turn left to Jardine's Bazaar; and (6) Traffic along northbound Pennington Street will be diverted to turn right to eastbound Yee Wo Street; (C) Suspension of bus stops All bus stops along the Gloucester Road southbound, Irving Street, Yee Wo Street westbound, Hennessey Road westbound, Queensway westbound, Queen's Road Central east of Ice House Street will be temporarily suspended from about 3 pm until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal. (D) Suspension of public light bus (PLB) stands The PLB stand at Sugar Street will be temporarily suspended from about 3.15 pm until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal.
