Woman dies in traffic accident in Western

	Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 58-year-old woman was killed on Pok Fu Lam Road in Western this morning (May 7).

	Shortly before 6 am, a light goods vehicle driven by a 22-year-old man was travelling along Pok Fu Lam Road westbound. On reaching outside Pok Fu Lam Village, it reportedly knocked down the 58-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

	Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital where she was certified dead at 6.19 am.

The light good vehicle driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and has been detained for further enquiries.

	The Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island will take over the case for investigation.
