Woman dies in traffic accident in Hung Hom

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 33-year-old woman was killed on Chatham Road North in Hung Hom this morning (May 8).

At around 2.30am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 33-year-old man was travelling along Chatham Road North eastbound. On reaching No. 271, Chatham Road North outside, it reportedly knocked down the 33-year-old woman who dashed out from the pavement.

The woman sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she was certified dead at 3.32 am.

The MGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and has been detained for further enquiries.

The Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West has taken over the case for investigation.
