Police seize contraband hard disks worth $1.29 million

     Marine Police today (May 8) in East Peng Chau seized a large quantity of computer hard disks worth $1.29 million.
	
     Officers of the Marine Police Small Boat Division and Marine North Division on an anti-smuggling operation spotted four suspicious speedboats about 4.45am trying to exit Tolo Harbour and cross Mirs Bay in order to leave for the Mainland.  Vessels of the Small Boat Division intercepted one of the speedboats over a reef off the southern shoreline of East Peng Chau.  A man onboard fled.

     A total of 160 boxes of computer hard disks worth $1.29 million were seized from the speedboat.  Investigations by the Marine North Division are under way.
