Robbery victims urged to come forward ************************************* People living on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon West Region who have recently been robbed but did not report the incident, are urged to call Police. The appeal has been made following the arrest of a 36-year-old man in Tai Cheung Street, Shau Kei Wan on Saturday (May 10). Between March and May, Police received reports that elderly women were robbed by someone who followed them out of the lifts inside the building and then grabbed them from behind. After robbing the women, the person escaped via the staircases. The Regional Crime Unite, Hong Kong Island (RCU HKI) took over the cases and coordinated an anti-robbery operation in May. RCU HKI officers successfully identified the suspect and an arrest was made. Police appealed to victims, especially elderly women, of similar style robberies in the past two months to contact Police on 2548 2657. Police Report No.2 Issued by PPRB End/Tuesday, May 13, 2008.
