Death of woman in Kwai Chung

    Police are investigating the death of a 32-year-old woman in Kwai Chung last night (May 21).

     About 7pm, a flat owner in Kwai Fung House on Ping Lai Path found that odd smell was emitting from one of the rooms in the flat and no one answered the door. A report was then made to the Police.

     Police officers and firemen sped to the scene. Firemen broke into the room in which a woman was found lying unconscious on the floor. Her neck was tied by a curtain. She was certified dead by ambulancemen at the scene.

     Initial enquiries revealed that the 32-year-old woman was the room tenant. No superficial injury was found on her. A post-mortem will be conducted later today (May 22) to ascertain the cause of her death.

     Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Kwai Tsing are under way.
