Fatal traffic accident in Sha Tin

    Police are investigating a traffic accident in Sha Tin today (May 24) in which a 41-year-old man was killed and a 39-year-old man was injured.

	About 12.35pm, a light goods vehicle (LGV) being driven by the 41-year-old man was traveling along Tai Po Road towards Kowloon.  On reaching Kam Shan Country Park, the vehicle crossed over to the opposite carriageway and collided with another LGV driven by the 39-year-old man.

	Both drivers sustained serious injuries.  The 41-year-old man was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital where he was certified dead at 2.16pm while the 39-year-old man was sent to the Prince of Wales Hospital for medical treatment.

	Investigations will be taken over by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South.
