Traffic arrangements for public event on June 1

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements on June 1 (Sunday) to facilitate a public meeting at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay followed by a procession to the Central Government Offices in Central.

     The following traffic arrangements will be implemented from 3pm:

Road closure
------------

(1) Southbound Gloucester Road between Victoria Park Road flyover and Causeway Road;
(2) Northbound Gloucester Road south of Sugar Street;
(3) Sugar Street;
(4) A section of westbound Yee Wo Street between Pennington Street and Hennessy Road;
(5) Jardine's Bazaar; 
(6) A section of westbound Hennessy Road between Yee Wo Street and Canal Road West; and
(7) The slow lane of Hennessy Road westbound west of Canal Road West, westbound Queensway and Queen's Road Central east of Ice House Street will be intermittently closed.

Traffic Diversion
-----------------

(1) Traffic along southbound Victoria Park Road flyover will be diverted to turn right to Gloucester Road service road;
(2) Traffic along eastbound Great George Street will be diverted to turn left to northbound Gloucester Road except vehicles heading for Tai Hang flyover;
(3) Traffic along eastbound Yee Wo Street will be prohibited to turn left to Sugar Street;
(4) Traffic along Irving Street will be diverted to turn right to northbound Pennington Street;
(5) Traffic along northbound Pennington Street will be prohibited to turn left to Jardine's Bazaar; and
(6) Traffic along northbound Pennington Street will be diverted to turn right to eastbound Yee Wo Street.

Suspension of bus stops
-----------------------

     All bus stops along the Gloucester Road southbound, Irving Street, Yee Wo Street westbound, Hennessey Road westbound, Queensway westbound and Queen's Road Central will be intermittently suspended until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal.

Suspension of public light bus (PLB) stands
-------------------------------------------

     The PLB stand at Sugar Street and the Green Mini Bus stand at Tang Lung Street will be temporarily suspended until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal.
