Taxi driver dies in traffic accident at airport *********************************** Police are investigating a traffic accident at the airport this morning (June 20) in which a 33-year-old taxi driver died, two men and one woman were injured. About 5 am today, a taxi driven by the 33-year-old man was travelling along Airport Road towards the airport. At the slip road of Airport Road to Asia World-Expo, the taxi driver lost control and hit a traffic road sign. A tyre of the taxi came loose and lay on Airport Road. The tyre was subsequently hit by another taxi travelling on the same carriageway towards the airport. The first taxi driver and his 31-year-old male passenger were rescued by firemen and sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital where the taxi driver was certified dead at 6.02 am. Two passengers, both aged 74, on board the second taxi were also injured and sent to Princess Margaret Hospital. The second taxi driver sustained no injuries. Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are under way.
