Fatal traffic accident in Sha Tin

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Sha Tin this afternoon (July 2) in which a 56-year-old man was killed.

About 11am, a light goods vehicle driven by a 33-year-old man was travelling along Siu Lek Yuen Road west bound. When left turn to Kwong Sin Street, the vehicle hit the man who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital where he was certified dead at 4.40pm on the same day.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are proceeding.
