Fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan this morning (August 10) in which two men, aged 35 and 51, were killed while a 43-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were injured.

About 6am, a private car driven by the 43-year-old man was travelling along Ching Cheung Road towards Wong Tai Sin. On reaching near Butterfly Valley Road, the private car lost control and hit a road sign and a lamppost after dashing against the central divider. It subsequently went across the opposite lane and crashed into a taxi travelling on the opposite direction.

The 51-year-old male taxi driver and the 35-year-old male taxi passenger were certified dead at the scene by ambulancemen while the 43-year-old male private car driver and the 27-year-old female private car passenger were injured and were sent to Princess Margaret Hospital for medical treatment.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic Kowloon West are proceeding.
