Murder and suicide in Tuen Mun

Police are investigating a murder and suicide case in Tuen Mun today (August 21) in which a 33-year-old man and a 3-year-old girl died.

About 3.50pm, a 28-year-old woman made a report to the Police that her husband and daughter were found lying unconscious inside their residence at No. 45 Lung Mun Road. A basin with burnt charcoal was found nearby.

The 33-year-old man and the 3-year-old girl were rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital where they were later certified dead at 4.48pm and 4.44pm respectively.

Initial enquiries revealed that the man locked himself and his daughter inside the bedroom and lit up the charcoal to commit suicide.

Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of their death.

Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Tuen Mun are underway.
