Police investigate Chai Wan murder

Police are investigating the death of a man who was allegedly attacked in Chai Wan last night (September 13) and later died in hospital.

About 11.20pm, Police received reports that some people were fighting at Big Wave Bay.

Police arrived at the scene and located five injured men aged between 34 and 36. They were rushed to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where one of the 34-year-old men was certified dead at 12.07am this morning (September 14).

Initial enquiries revealed that the five men were allegedly attacked by a group of people after a dispute in Tai Long Wan Tsuen. The deceased who sustained injury to his neck was believed to have been attacked with hard objects. The gang fled after the attack.

Police have classified the case as murder. A post-mortem will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.

Investigations by Regional Crime Unit of Hong Kong Island are under way.
