Fatal traffic accident in Ma On Shan

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Ma On Shan this afternoon (October 6) in which an 81-year-old woman was killed.

About 2.26pm, a light goods vehicle driven by a 29-year-old man hit the woman while it was reversing from Sheung Pun Shan Tsuen to Ma On Shan Tsuen Road.

The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital where she was certified dead at 3.08pm.

The driver was later arrested for dangerous driving causing death and pending further enquiries.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are under way.
