Special traffic arrangements for religious event in Siu Sai Wan

Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate the holding of a religious event in Siu Sai Wan on Sunday (October 12).

Arrival Phase (from 1 pm)
-----------------------------

(a) Traffic Diversion
A section of the leftmost lane of eastbound Siu Sai Wan Road (North) outside the Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground will be coned off for coaches, taxis and private cars dropping-off purpose when situation so required.

(b) Road Closure
Fu Hong Street will be closed for all vehicular traffic except emergency vehicles, accessing to the carpark and for picking up / dropping-off purpose.

(c) Passenger Alighting Arrangements
The drop-off zone for shuttle buses, coaches, taxis and private cars will be at the leftmost lane of Sun Yip Street, both bounds of Siu Sai Wan Road (North) outside the Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground and the section of Fu Hong Street.

Departure Phase (from 4.55pm)

Five minutes before the conclusion of the event, the following measures may be implemented until the crowd has dispersed.

(a) Traffic Diversion
(i) Traffic along northbound Harmony Road must turn right into eastbound Siu Sai Wan Road (North);
(ii) Traffic along westbound Siu Sai Wan Road (North) must turn left into southbound Harmony Road;
(iii) Traffic along Sun Yip Street will be banned to enter Siu Sai Wan Road (North); and
(iv) When necessary, a section of Sun Yip Street between Fung Yip Street and Ka Yip Street will be re-routed one-way southbound to facilitate queuing of coaches during departure phase. In this connection, vehicles travelling along northbound Sun Yip Street will be diverted to turn left into Fung Yip Street. Those departing from eastbound Fung Yip Street will be diverted to turn right into southbound Sun Yip Street.

(b) Road closure
(i) Fu Hong Street; and
(ii) A section of Siu Sai Wan Road (North) between Sun Yip Street and Harmony Road.

(c) Suspension of bus stops
The bus stops at eastbound Siu Sai Wan Road outside Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground will be temporarily suspended. Passengers can use the bus terminus at Island Resort, about 200 metres further down of Siu Sai Wan Road.

Throughout the event
--------------------

(a) Learner driver will be prohibited to use the section of Siu Sai Wan Road (North) between Sun Yip Street and Harmony Road between 1 pm and 7 pm.
(b) Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements specified above may be towed away without advance notice.
(c) The nine parking spaces for coaches and goods vehicles along the eastern pavement of Sun Yip Street between Siu Sai Wan Road and Fung Yip Street will be suspended between 7am and 8pm.

Motorists are urged to take heed of traffic signs and instructions by Police at the scene.
