Elderly man dies in Aberdeen traffic accident

Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in which a 66-year-old pedestrian was knocked down by a private car in Aberdeen this (October 18) morning.

About 5am, a 26-year-old man was driving his vehicle along Aberdeen Praya Road towards Wong Chuk Hang when it reportedly hit the victim who was crossing the road. The 66-year-old man sustained serious injuries and died at scene.

The private car then rammed the railing and a glass of a shop outside a shopping Mall. The driver and his 24-year-old male passenger were also injured.

Investigations by Hong Kong Island Traffic Special Investigation Team are underway.
