Police appeal for information on fatal accident in Mong Kok

Police today (October 21) appealed for information about a traffic accident in Mong Kok, in which a 51-year-old man was seriously injured and later died in hospital.

About 1am on October 11, a taxi driven by a 49-year-old man was travelling along southbound Hoi Wang Road. When reaching outside No. 32-33 Hoi Wang Road, the taxi hit the 51-year-old man who was crossing the road.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Kwong Wah Hospital. He was certified dead at 10.19am on October 15.

The taxi driver was later arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is now on police bail pending for further investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West.
