Police seize drugs worth $36 million

Police yesterday (October 27) seized dangerous drugs with a market value of about $36 million in an operation and arrested five men.

Officers of the Narcotics Bureau (NB) searched a container at a warehouse on Kung Um Road, Yuen Long, yesterday morning and found packets of drugs concealed inside sofas which were loaded inside the container.

The seized dangerous drugs, with estimated market value of $36 million, included 162 kg of suspected Cannabis Buds, 17.4 kg of suspected Methamphetamine, and 10,000 tablets of suspected Ecstasy.

Five men, aged between 29 and 50, were arrested at the scene for allegedly trafficking in dangerous drugs. Four of them have been released on bail and the fifth, a 43-year-old man, is still being detained.
